We will start the day with a trip to the stunning Heidrun Meadery where we will join an expertly guided tour of their production facility and learn how their unique sparkling mead is made; observe honey bees in action and explore Heidrun’s bee forage farmscape, all while enjoying a sampling of their wonderfully refreshing sparkling mead varietals. Beehive Cheese will be on-site to guide you through a tasting of their unique and delicious offerings. 

Step into the oldest continually operating creamery in the United States, with a history spanning over 160 years. Explore the cheesemaking and aging rooms to see how traditional methods are used to craft their signature soft-ripened cheeses. Stroll the scenic grounds and discover historical points of interest that reflect the creamery’s long legacy in Marin County. The tour concludes with a tasting of their carefully aged, soft-ripened cheeses, offering a true sense of the creamery’s craftsmanship and heritage. After the tour, enjoy a delicious lunch provided by Marin French Cheese Co. and enjoy some time browsing their expertly curated shop before heading to the next stop. 

We will end this tour with a stop at Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, California’s only organic farmstead creamery. Third generation dairy farmers, the Lafranchi family has been ranching in Nicasio for over a hundred years, and began crafting farmstead cheese with organic milk from their herd of Holsteins in 2010. Tour their beautiful pastures, visit the creamery, and taste their award-winning cheeses that capture the sense of place on this 1,150-acre family ranch.
