Your first tour begins at Wm. Cofield Cheesemakers where you will be able to see how proper British style cheese is made from start to finish — from the milk vats operating on site to the aging room to the packaging and shipping area. Following the tour, you will enjoy a full tasting of all Wm. Cofield has to offer.
From here, you will board your tour bus and head to Tomales Farmstead Creamery, where owners Tamara Hicks and David Jablons have lovingly restored a 160-acre former cow dairy. Toluma Farms is now home to a herd of goats, a flock of sheep, and Tomales Farmstead Creamery. You’ll tour the organic pastures, meet the goats, sheep, and their pink-nosed babies, and taste an array of cheeses.
Next you will head north to the Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery in the quaint village of Valley Ford. This exciting venture from Karen Bianchi-Moreda and her son Joe builds on her family’s storied 100-year dairy legacy in coastal California, marrying café and cheese ripening. Devour a delicious cheese-focused lunch at the café before enjoying a tour and focused tasting of Valley Ford cheeses, crafted with milk from Karen’s son Jim’s nearby herd of Jersey cows.
Before the tour ends you will get an exclusive visit to Black Kite Cellars. This is a small, family-owned and operated winery committed to producing the finest site-specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from exceptional vineyards along the California coast. Starting their 20th year, they are pleased to have you join them in opening the doors to their new home, “Jasper House.” Just seven miles from the Pacific Ocean, located in the historic town of Freestone. They welcome you to a special tasting of their currently released wines from both the Anderson Valley and Sonoma Coast AVAs.
