The first stop is Marin French Cheese Co., the country’s oldest continuously operating cheese company.  Start your morning with the historic Petite Breakfast cheese and explore the scenic grounds and cheese shop.

From there you will head to Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. where you will enjoy a cheese tasting hosted by your personal cheese concierge on the gorgeous patio of The Fork, the company’s Culinary & Educational Center. In addition to the bucolic view of cows on pastures overlooking Tomales Bay, a stroll through the edible garden and your delicious assortment of cheeses, you will be guided around the farm for an informational walking tour that includes the history of the 64-year second generation dairy, close-up interactions with the Holstein herd, and the inside scoop on this women-owned, sustainable and award-winning operation. The tour will be followed by a casual lunch prepared by Executive Chef Jennifer Luttrell.

Hop back on the bus for a short trip down the road to  Heidrun Meadery. Experience an expertly guided tour of their production facility and discover how sparkling mead is made; see their estate honeybees in the act of nectar cultivation and learn about their bee forage farm program, all while enjoying a sampling of their wonderfully refreshing sparkling mead varietals.

From there you will head to Nicasio Valley for a stop at Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, California’s only organic farmstead creamery.  Third generation dairy farmers, the Lafranchi family has been ranching in Nicasio for over a hundred years, and began crafting farmstead cheese with organic milk from their herd of Holsteins in 2010.  Tour their beautiful pastures, visit the creamery, and taste their award-winning cheeses that capture the sense of place on this 1,150-acre family ranch.
